Government Claims

Claims against the government have special laws that must be complied with to preserve a possible claim. The claims are governed by the Texas Torts Claims Act and other laws. Unless the government has given permission for you to make a claim, you cannot make one. You must file a proper Notice of Claim, which is due possibly as little as 90 days from the date of injury. If there is no special deadline, the deadline is 180 days from the DOI. If no notice is made as provided by law, you may not be able to make your government claim.
